1988年にグレース・スリックがスターシップを離れる1年前、バンドは3番目のナンバーワンヒット「Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now」をリリースしました。1960年代に「Somebody to Love」や「White Rabbit」などのヒット曲をリリースしたジェファーソン・エアプレインから、70年代にジェファーソン・スターシップ、そして80年代にスターシップへと変貌を遂げたこのバンドは、新バンドとして2年以内に3曲目のヒット曲をリリースしました。

ダイアン・ウォーレンとアルバート・ハモンドが作曲した「Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now」は、1987年のロマンティックコメディ映画『マネキン』にも使用され、アンドリュー・マッカーシーとキム・キャトラルが主演し、アカデミー賞の「最優秀オリジナル歌曲賞」にノミネートされました。
