チェコ・フィルハーモニーの公演をコンサートホールの最前列の座席に座り

コンサートマスターのすぐそばで聴きました

ヴァイオリンの弦の擦れる音、躍動する音楽感性

水面に浮かぶ木の葉のように

迫り来る静謐と押し寄せる慟哭の波間に漂いながら

情緒の奥底から沸き起こる葛藤と会話を交わしました

それはたいへん生々しく魂を震わす音色でした

I listened to the public performance of the Czech Philharmonic from my seat in the front row of the concert hall, right beside the concert master.

The quavering sound of the violin strings, a dynamic musical sensibility;

Like a leaf floating on the surface of the water

I drifted on waves of overwhelming grief and impending tranquility,

Conversing with the conflict that welled up from the depths of my emotions.

It was a timbre whose astounding vividness shook my very soul.

舞台上では楽団員たちは風格と気品が香り出て

胸が締め付けられるほど感動的でした

そこには彼らが長い歴史とともに築き上げてきた

音楽家としての重厚な尊厳が漂っていました

音楽であれ演劇であれ一つの道に打ち込む人間が

心から信じるものを表現したり訴えたりする姿には

人の心を深く打つ力があります

そして優れた芸術というものがどのような土壌から生まれ出るのか

郷愁と深い憧れを抱かずにはおれません

On the stage, the orchestra players exuded style and elegance;

So poignant that I felt my chest tighten.

There, with the long history they had built up together,

The aura of their profound dignity as musicians pervades the air.

Be it music or drama, the sight of someone wholeheartedly devoted to a single art

Expressing and accentuating the appeal of a belief sincerely held

Has the power to strike deeply into the human heart.

And from what soil is born such outstanding art?

I could not help but feel a deep sense of longing and nostalgia.
